  1. Wearable Art Pop-Up Boutique

    For the month of May, Artworks@7th will open a new exhibition featuring three talented artist designers, Kathleen Addario, Barbara Hance, and Alinda Heron. årtique boutique: Accessories With Imagination, will feature one of a kind jewelry and fashion accessories created through the unique vision of each artist. Artist/Illustrator Kathleen Addario, designs and creates jewelry, inspired by the sea, primarily using semiprecious stones and sea glass. Jeweler Barbara Hance designs and creates handcrafted, fine silver jewelry made from metal clay. Fiber artist Alinda Heron has had a life long love of all things fabric. She creates hand-dyed scarves and wearable art using the Japanese Shibori method of dying fabric. ärtique boutique opens with a preview night on Friday, May 5, 2017, from 6–8 p.m., and an Opening Reception on Saturday, May 6, 2017, from 2–5 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.

  2. Boating Safety Class

    May 22, 2017, 6:00 PM - May 25, 2017, 10:00 PM @ County Services Plaza

    Classes will be held on 22, 23 and 25 May. Classes will cover boat nomenclature, types of boats and engines, legal requirements, emergency equipment and lights, waterway navigation, and boating emergencies. Students are required to attend at least 8 hours of classroom instruction. A comprehensive review and final test is conducted during the Thursday night session. Upon successful completion of the class, each boater will receive a Maryland Boating Safety Education Certificate (Blue Card) The fee is $20 and included all required materials.

    The Calvert County Board of County Commissioners will hold a Public Hearing to consider and receive comments on a Budget Adjustment to increase the operating budget for Fiscal Year 2017. This adjustment proposes to use prior year health insurance refunds to relieve Calvert County Government employees and retirees then receiving health insurance through the County of the obligation to pay their share of their health insurance costs for the month of June 2017.
