  1. Planning Commission Meeting

    Appointed by the Board of County Commissioners, the Planning Commission serves as a citizen review board on county planning decisions. The Planning Commission is both an advisory and decision-making body. Planning Commission activities include: •Reviews and makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners on the Comprehensive Plan, town center master plans and other policy plans necessary to guide county development. •Makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners regarding zoning of land, amendments to the ordinances, the development of public structures and services, land acquisitions and other development and growth related issues. •Reviews and approves the recommendations for subdivision of land for residential and commercial use and proposed site plans for the future development of individual sites. These recommendations and actions are performed in coordination with the staff of Community Planning & Building.

    Get ready for the holidays at the 15th Annual Craft Fair at Northern High on December 16! Shop from over 80 expert crafters and vendors for unique gifts such as handmade jewelry, holiday decor, sports memorabilia, artwork, and more. We'll have Lularoe, Color Street, Pampered Chef, H2O at Home, Mary Kay and other vendors on hand too. Also door prizes, food, Cold Stone ice cream, Santa and Mrs. Claus, and Santa's Workshop for kids! Plus all musicians of all ages are invited to perform in a holiday concert in the Mary Harrison Center auditorium at 1:00 pm! BYOI - Bring your own instrument and arrive around 12:45.   4. Peebles presents FAO Workshop of Wonder

    This holiday season, Peebles, part of the Stage Stores family, in Prince Frederick invites customers to experience the wonder of iconic FAO Schwarz toys through family-friendly events. The “FAO Workshop of Wonder” events will take place in stores Dec. 2, Dec. 9 and Dec. 16 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Children will be treated to story time with Santa or one of his Elves reading “Return to Wonder – Toys on Tour,” an exclusive FAO Schwarz story book, only available at Stage Stores. Each child will receive a coloring book to bring home the excitement of these events. Additionally, kids will be invited to participate in arts and crafts stations to create custom ornaments and holiday cards for the whole family. To top off the fun and save the holiday memories, families can step into the Winter Wonderland Photo Booth for pictures. Guests will have the chance to play with and purchase the famous FAO Schwarz toys including the Giant Dance Mat Piano, Ride On Roadster and a life-size bear.
