The Environmental Commission was established to provide significant and purposeful information and responses to the Board of County Commissioners.   With the approval of the Board, the Environmental Commission will focus on: 
  • Reducing nutrient pollution from septic systems 

  • Encouraging environmentallysensitive watershed management practices 

  • Developing regulations for forest replacement outside the Critical Area and for the protection of large tracts of contiguous forests 

  • Making recommendations for directing growth to Town Centers 

  • Encouraging energy and water conservation 

  • Exploring 'green' buildings and storm water management practices

The eleven-member Environmental Commission holds a regularly scheduled public meeting at 6:30 p.m. on the last Monday of each month in the Planning & Zoning Conference Room, Suite 304, County Services Plaza, 150 Main Street, Prince Frederick, Maryland.
