Free Business Resources
The Calvert County Department of Economic Development acts as a catalyst to enhance the economy of Calvert County by promoting quality, economic development within the parameters set by the Comprehensive Plan.
The department concentrates on working with the private sector to provide employment opportunities for Calvert County residents, increase the commercial tax base and increase the number of visitors to the county. In generating new business opportunities, the county continues to remain sensitive to the environment and responsive to community interests.
One of the services offered through the Department of Economic Development is no-cost, confidential, one-on-one business counseling through the Small Business Development Center (SBDC).
The Southern Region Small Business Development Center (SBDC) helps new and existing business owners with resources and information that support long-term success. The SBDC delivers its services primarily through low-cost workshops and FREE, confidential, one-on-one counseling in the areas of:

The Maryland Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is a program of the University of Maryland Center for Applied Policy Studies, the United States Small Business Administration (SBA) and the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development (DBED), the College of Southern Maryland and the Calvert County Board of County Commissioners. This Cooperative Agreement is partially funded by the U.S. Small Business Administration.
