  1. Art Exhibit: “Some Things Old, Some Things New”

    October 6, 11:00 AM - October 30, 5:00 PM @ Artworks@7th Fine Art & Unique Gifts

    Internationally renowned award winning artist Carmelo Ciancio, known for his stunning scratchboards, is the featured artist for the month of October at Artworks@7th. On exhibit will be a variety of new and imaginative pieces featuring the skill, creativity, and artistry for which Carmelo is known, as well as some of his more treasured older pieces, specially priced as a way to say ‘thank you’ to his devoted followers. This special show will run from October 6th thru October 30th with a “Meet the Artist” Opening Reception on October 8th from 5-8 pm…you won’t want to miss this opportunity to meet the artist and own a Carmelo Ciancio original. So come on out, meet the artist, and peruse the distinctive and unique works of this creative and talented local artist as well as the many other pieces offered throughout the gallery – you’ll be impressed with the artistic quality and creativity of the work and you might just find that something special for friend.

  3. Free Workshop October - Women's Health from a Preventative Perspective!

    October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month Prince Frederick, Maryland – K Conway Physical Therapy’s observation of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month is with its October workshop titled “Doctor Kirk …How can physical therapy help with …will focus on Women’s Health from a Preventative Perspective! This month’s guest speaker is Morgan Brissette, DNPs FNP-BC CRNP from the Woman’s Wellness Center at Calvert Memorial Hospital where she is the Nurse Practitioner. She has been a nurse for over 26 years which includes 10 years as a Nurse and 16 years as Family Nurse Practitioner. Mrs. Brissette received her nursing degree from the University of Natal in South Africa and her MSN FNP at the University of Hawaii. She has worked at Calvert Memorial Hospital for 3 years. This month’s free workshop will be held in the evening at the main facility of K Conway Physical Therapy in Prince Frederick MD Refreshments will be served.

  5. K Conway Open House Celebration

    K Conway Physical Therapy and K Conway Health & Wellness Club would like to cordially invite you to the Open House & the beginning of a yearlong celebration of our upcoming 10th anniversary. October is National Physical Therapy Month and we will kick off a yearlong health and wellness campaign.The goals of the campaign are to help make Calvert County, Maryland, one of the healthiest counties in the state and to benefit Project ECHO, a local nonprofit organization. The campaign will start with citizens signing up and end with them participating in Project ECHO’s Turkey Trot Thanksgiving Day 5K Walk-Run in the fall of 2017. The open house-anniversary activities, which will run from 10 am – 2 pm on Saturday, October 29, 2016, will include music, food, refreshment, free massages, door prizes, and games, face painting, and a clown for the children.

  6. Halloween in the Garden

    Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center in Solomons, Maryland, will host their annual trick-or-treating extravaganza, Halloween in the Garden, on Saturday, October 29, 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. If you are looking for a fun family-friendly Halloween activity, this is the place to be! For the 17th year, youngsters and their families are invited to parade down the Garden’s Wooded Path collecting treats and small gifts from more than seventy booths. Each booth is decorated and hosted by a Southern Maryland community organizations or businesses. Admission is $1.00 per person and will benefit the Holiday Food Basket Program and the Annmarie Scholarship Fund. Trick-or-treating bags will be provided for each quest. New this year, purchase a line-hopper pass for $3/person, on sale at the admission gate from 10:30-11:00am, and jump to the front of the trick-or-treating line!
