  2. LULU'S FATE

    January 19, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM @ Calvert Marine Museum

    The Maritime Performance Series presents LULU'S FATE in the Harms Gallery. Doors open at 6 PM with beer and wine for sale. Lulu’s Fate performs a mix of music from the Appalachian, southern string band, and country blues traditions, as well as early swing, gospel, original tunes and covers ranging from Hank Williams to Tom Waits. Comprised of Tom Espinola on mandolin & guitar, Kristen Jones on cello, and singer Kara Bolling, the trio blends virtuosic instrumentals with lush 3-part vocal harmonies to create new interpretations of traditional tunes. Lulu’s Fate is based in the Washington DC metro area. Tickets are $15 online, $20 at the door at www.bit.ly//MaritimeConcerts.

  3. Calvert Artists' Guild January Workshop

    January 20, 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM @ Mt. Hope Community Center

    The Calvert Artists' Guild is presenting an “Abstract Design Frames and Canvas” Workshop, given by Sharon Weiner at the Mt. Hope Community Center on January 20, 2018 from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Sharon Weiner makes colorful, zentangle-like frames out of all kinds of frames in addition to her abstract design canvases. SUPPLIES: Please bring your favorite brushes, old thrift store frames and any acrylic paints that you would like to use. Some supplies will be available at the workshop. Mt. Hope Community Center is located at 104 Pushaw Station Rd., Sunderland, MD 20689. The charge for the workshop for Calvert Artists Guild members is $35 and for the public is $45.00. Rehearsals start on February 1st. Mon,Thur and Sun 6:30-9:00. Show runs weekends April 13-22. CORIE BRATTER - a free spirit, newlywed to Paul - mid 20's PAUL BRATTER - a lawyer, newlywed to Corie - Late 20's MRS. BANKS - Corie's mother - Late 40's to mid 50's VICTOR VELASCO - the neighbor in the attic - Late 40's to mid 50's TELEPHONE REPAIR MAN/WOMAN DELIVERY MAN/WOMAN Paul and Corie Bratter are newlyweds in every sense of the word. After a six day honeymoon, they get a surprise visit from Corie's near-hypochondriac mother, Corie is trying to fix her up; Paul is opposed to it.
