    Board of County Commissioners meetings are held Tuesdays at 10 a.m. in the Commissioners' Hearing Room, located in the Calvert County Circuit Courthouse at 175 Main St. in Prince Frederick. Meetings are open to the public and generally last the business day. In addition, the board holds evening meetings when necessary. Time and place of evening meetings are advertised in the local Calvert County newspapers. An agenda for the weekly meeting is published the Thursday prior to the Tuesday meeting.

  1. Animal Matters Hearing Board Meeting

    The Animal Matters Hearing Board (AMHB) will hear and decide administrative appeals pertaining to the enforcement of the provisions of Chapter 7 of the Calvert County Code; and the only advisory board to make recommendations for the amendment to the chapter.     Appointed by the Board of County Commissioners, the Planning Commission serves as a citizen review board on county planning decisions. The Planning Commission is both an advisory and decision-making body. Planning Commission meetings are held at 7:00 pm on the third Wednesday of each month with the exception of the month of December. Special Meetings are held on as "as needed" basis.

    The Environmental Commission is a citizen board of experts on environmental factors that affect Calvert County and the Chesapeake Bay. They work to spread public awareness of environmental issues and to advise County staff upon request. Each meeting of the Environmental Commission features a guest speaker, who will speak on a topic related to his/her field of expertise and the natural environment of Calvert County and the Chesapeake Bay. This guest speaker is generally scheduled for 6:00 PM - 6:45 PM of each meeting.
