Mission
The County Attorney’s Office provides legal services to the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) and to all the departments of county government. These services include; giving legal advice to the county commissioners and county employees; reviewing all legal documents for legal sufficiency; rendering legal opinions; prosecuting violations of county ordinances in court; representing the county in lawsuits brought against and on behalf of the county; and updating the County Code. In addition, the county attorneys attend all county commissioner meetings to give legal advice as the need arises.
