The Board will meet with staff to consider a matter that concerns the proposal for a business or
industrial organization to locate, expand, or remain in the State.
This agenda is subject to change and the times listed are approximate.

revised agenda that will be issued prior to the closed session.

SUMMARY OF ACTIONS
Approved support of the Calvert Crusade for Children’s “100 Best Communities for Young People” application to America’s Promise and designated Commissioner Barbara Stinnett to serve as the Board contact, as well as Candice D’Agostino with Calvert Alliance Against Substance Abuse and Michele Scott with the Calvert County Family Network. Commissioner Kelley directed staff to inform the Board whether the $300,000 in grant funds is federal monies, corporate, or both. Commissioner Parran directed staff to provide the Department of Community Resources a copy of the minutes of the February 12, 2008, meeting or a letter of support.
Approved tax credits for open space lots for the Drum Point Property Owners Association.
Awarded Airgas East, of Hyattsville, Maryland, the contract to provide and deliver Chlorine Gas and Sulfur Dioxide on an as needed basis for the bid amount of $14,175 and $6,300 respectively.
Awarded the contract to furnish and deliver 12 roll-off containers for the Division of Solid Waste to Western Star Trucks of Delmarva, of Mardela Springs, Maryland, for the bid amount of $50,820.
Awarded the contract to provide and deliver sodium hypochlorite solution, 15% on an as needed basis to the Water and Sewer plants for Kings Landing Pool to Amato Industries, Inc., of Silver Spring, Maryland, for the bid amount of $44,179.99.
Awarded the contract to provide all labor and materials in order to provide and deliver plant-fabricated standard waterborne restroom facilities to Cove Point Park and BG&E Field for the bid amount of $134,583 and $97,137 respectively.
Approved the revisions as presented to the County’s Equal Employment Opportunity Plan and signed the related Resolution.
Approved the Federal Fiscal Year 2007 Buffer Zone Protection Program Memorandum of Agreement between the Maryland Emergency Management Agency and Calvert County and authorized the President of the Board to sign the Agreement, accepting an award of $182,875. Commissioner Kelley directed staff to provide a picture of the Talon Tactical Robot.
Approved the amendment to the Capital Project Grant Agreement with the Maryland Department of the Environment, allowing the County to receive additional funding in the amount of $32,042 on behalf of the homeowners whose properties were damaged during Hurricane Isabel in 2003.
Approved the issuance of a purchase order for the inspection services of the Calvert County Soil Conservation office in order to satisfy the stream mitigation requirements for the Southern Connector project, identifying the Phipps Farm as the stream mitigation site.
Approved the issuance of a purchase order in the amount of $44,062 for the additional engineering services of Wallace, Montgomery Associates required to move forward with the Solomons Roundabout project.
Approved the Agreement of Sale Contract for an easement acquisition in the amount of $24,250 with CMJ, LLC property (aka Skores Grill) for safety improvements needed to upgrade the existing Chapline roundabout. This amount is to be reimbursed at 80% through the State Aid Funding program.
Attended a joint public hearing with the Planning Commission and approved eight text amendments to the Zoning Ordinance as approved by the Planning Commission, with the record being held open on three others until close of business February 26.
