Presented a proclamation declaring October 19, 2006, “Conflict Resolution Day,” encouraging all citizens to seek resolution to conflicts so that we may all live in peace and harmony.
Presented a proclamation declaring October 23 - 31, 2006, “Red Ribbon Week,” encouraging all citizens to participate in alcohol and other drug awareness activities, making a visible statement that we are strongly committed to a drug-free County.
Presented the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting award to the Department of Finance and Budget, which is the “highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting.” The National Government Finance Officers Association has awarded this to Calvert County for the second year in a row and “its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.”
Appointed William B. Glascock, II, to the Calvert County Planning Commission.
Approved the Certification of Development Options application submitted by John T. Crane Jr. (Sprague Property) for APD #06-07, allowing for 10 development options.
Approved the Certification of Development Options application submitted by John T. Crane Jr. (Parran Ford Property) for APD #06-12, allowing for 53 development options.
Approved the Certification of Development Options application submitted by John T. Crane Jr. (Parran Ford Property) for APD #06-13, allowing for 18 development options.
Awarded Bardon Inc., dba Aggregate Industries, of Greenbelt, Maryland, the contract for the bituminous concrete overlay project for the bid amount of $3,389,200.
Approved the request of the Fire and Rescue Commission (FRC) for budget adjustment 159 in the amount of $20,000 from the FRC’s Contingency Fund for the major engine repairs needed for the Solomons Volunteer Rescue Squad and Fire Department’s apparatus, Tanker 3.
Attended the Ribbon Cutting for the Market Square section of the Prince Frederick Loop Road.
