Presented proclamations to the following women of Calvert County in recognition of being Calvert County Commission for Women award recipients: Service Award – Frances Sherman, RN, and Marguerite Bunny Tate, President, Ladies of Charity, St Anthony's Catholic Church; Advocacy Award – Pamela Williams, Clinical Supervisor for Calvert Substance Abuse Services; and Woman of Tomorrow Award – Austin Logan, employee, Mom's in The Kitchen.
Presented the following Calvert County Fire Chiefs with awards in recognition of responding to 18,337 calls for service in 2006 with a scratch rate of less than 1%:

Re-appointed Lt. Col. Louis J. Oertly and Reverend Victor L. Simpson and appointed Patricia Hofmann and Brenda L. Tyrrell to the Calvert County Family Network Board of Directors.
Re-appointed Caroline Baier-Anderson to the Environmental Commission.
Re-appointed W. Kay Forman and Russell P. Mogel Jr. and appointed Linda C. Fadley, Leslie M. Downs, Nicholas D. Garrett, Tracy Cloud, and Megan Williams to the Tourism Advisory Committee.
A presentation was given by Baltimore Gas and Electric (BGE) concerning the recent outages and outlining their plan for improvement in service. Directed BGE to provide the Board with a list of all subdivisions served by BGE; provide the Board with a list of the number of outages sustained per customer and the resulting time out of service per customer by range, not averages; requested BGE to provide a generator for Beach Elementary in order to serve as an emergency shelter; and outline a plan to improve the customer service at the BGE call centers.
Approved the First Amendment to the Security Services Agreement with Dominion in order to more properly define the coverage that is needed.
Approved the application submitted by Bay Abner, Inc., for an NG Beach Bingo license. Directed staff to look at establishing criteria of where these will be allowed as well as a fee schedule.
Authorized the Sheriff to proceed with his recommendation regarding the Tiki Bar to allow patrons to consume alcoholic beverages within the 230 foot space on Maryland Route 2 that will be clearly cordoned off and marked for the bar’s opening weekend of April 20 - 22, 2007. Directed staff to address the concerns of the Solomons Civic Association.
Deferred New Business Item 5 – Award Recommendation: Custodial Services Contract.
Approved and authorized the President of the Board to sign the grant agreement with the Maryland Historical Trust in the amount of $5,000 for the Chesapeake Beach Railway Museum and approved the related budget adjustment to establish the grant.
Approved the Certification of Development Options application submitted by James F. Hennon for Transferable Development Rights (TDR) #06-07 allowing for 2.5 TDRs. Directed staff to research what can these lots be utilized for since they are deemed non-buildable.
Authorized staff to obtain appraisals on two parcels in the North Calvert Rural Legacy Area for the Rural Legacy Program.
Authorized staff to proceed with Scenario B regarding the Installment Purchase Agreements for FY 2007 as presented, which is to buy 248 TDRs for an estimated $1,323,837 from four applicants.
