The Board will meet to obtain legal advice regarding a proposed easement.
2. Proposed Business [10-508 (a)(4)]
The Board will meet to consider a proposal for a business to remain in the State.
This agenda is subject to change. If any items are added for consideration, they will be
included on a revised agenda that will be issued prior to the closed session.

Summary of Actions Taken
Tuesday, May 15, 2007
Presented the Department of Finance and Budget with the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the National Government Finance Officers Association. This is the sixth year in a row the County has received this award.
Received an update on the challenges and successes experienced by the Juvenile Drug Court. Presented a proclamation designating the month of May as Drug Court Month, urging all citizens to vigorously support and participate in the activities of the Calvert County Juvenile Drug Court Steering Committee.
Authorized the President of the Board to testify at the public hearing conducted by the Maryland Department of the Environment regarding the renewal of a Title V Part 70 Operating Permit for Dominion Cove Point, and signed the related letter of support
Approved the amended FY 2007 Restricted Funds budget for the Board of Education in the amount of $11,388,260.
Deferred the request from the Board of Education for a budget adjustment in the amount of $850,000 for the transfer of funds from Instructional Salaries to Textbook Supplies, Other Instructional Costs, and Capital Outlay until further discussion with the Board of Education.
Approved the health insurance subsidy for fiscal year 2008 for retirees with no proposed change from the current years subsidy.
Approved the Certification of Development Options application submitted by Hazel R. Hammett for APD #07-04, allowing for 40 development options.
Approved the Certification of Development Options application submitted by the heirs of John W. Herbert (District A) for APD #07-01, allowing for 46 development options.
Approved the Certification of Development Options application submitted by the heirs of John W. Herbert (District B) for APD #07-02, allowing for 78 development options.
Approved and authorized the President of the Board to sign the Declaration for establishment of a perpetual stream buffer for the Prince Frederick Loop Road as required mitigation of the impacts by the Corps of Engineers.
Approved and signed the Agreement of Sale Contract for the fee simple acquisition of property from Charles R. Weber for Chesapeake Boulevard.
Awarded Morgan E. Russell, Inc., of Sunderland, Maryland, the contract for Special Projects, Northern Calvert for the bid amount of $666,800. Directed staff to provide the Board with the unit pricing for the past three years.
Awarded J. W. Graner, Inc., of Sunderland, Maryland the contract for Special Projects, Southern Calvert for the bid amount of $689,537. Directed staff to provide the Board with the unit pricing for the past three years.
Authorized the Solid Waste Division to apply for the MDE eCycling Grant, which is a new grant program to assist counties in the collection and recycling of computers and other electronic items.
Attended the Law Enforcement Memorial and Appreciation Program. Presented proclamations declaring May 15, 2007, as Peace Officers’ Memorial Day, urging all citizens to observe this day with the appropriate ceremonies and display of respect the Peace Officers have earned and deserve.
Held a joint meeting with the Board of Education to receive an update on several items.
