The Board will meet to discuss pending litigation and a possible settlement with counsel.
2. Land Acquisition [10-508 (a)(3)]
The Board will meet to consider the acquisition of land from the American Chestnut
Land Trust.

The Board will meet with staff to discuss a proposed contract for a library in North Beach.
4. Personnel Matter [10-508 (a)(1)(i)]
The Board will meet with staff to discuss employee contract renewals.

Presented proclamations to the following 2007 Calvert Crusade for Children Award Recipients:
Sonia Wagner and the Southern Maryland College Access Network – Educational Opportunities
Sonia Hinds and the Barstow Acres Children’s Center – Healthy Children
Ephonia Wills – Strong Families
Donna Bowling – Advocacy
Samantha Jones – Youth Contribution
Adopted the FY 2008 Budget as presented by staff. The General Fund Operating Budget totals $206,150,165, which is a balanced budget with no use of reserves.
Held a public hearing regarding FY 2007 Budget Adjustments. Approved and signed the related resolution authorizing the use of additional funds in the amount of $2,850,000 for various projects and operations, use of general funds in the amount of $440,000 to replace the planned use of excise tax for two projects, use of a portion of additional revenue in the amount of $693,000 for the Southern Connector Road, and to reallocate a portion of general funds in the amount of $226,000 from various operations for a total net adjustment of $3,757,000.
Approved a budget adjustment in the amount of $93,481 to cover the additional legal and engineering consulting expenses incurred in March and April regarding the lawsuit from the Chesapeake Ranch Water Company. Expenses to date now total $838,110.
Awarded the Appeal Landfill Access Control Gate and Optional Surveillance Camera System Contract to Affiliated Services, Inc., of Severna Park, Maryland, for the bid amount of $34,659.41.
Awarded the Plumbing Installation and Repair Contract to Citywide, Inc., of Prince Frederick, Maryland, for the bid amount of $38,928.
Awarded the Toilet Tissue and Paper Towels Contracts as follows:
White 1-ply Tissue: Laniado Wholesale Maintenance Products, Rockville, MD - $34.95/case
White Multi-fold Towels: Laniado Wholesale Maintenance Products, Rockville, MD - $13.99/case
White Single Fold Towels: Laniado Wholesale Maintenance Products, Rockville, MD - $14.35/case
White Rolled Towels: Daycon Wholesale, Upper Marlboro, MD - $45.15/case
Authorized the Maryland Technology Development Corporation (TEDCO) to co-locate within the Calvert County Department of Economic Development and directed staff to prepare a Memorandum of Understanding between Calvert County and TEDCO to that effect.
Approved a contract lease extension with the Lusby Motor Company for the Lusby Conference Room through June 30, 2008.
Approved the corrected Historic Preservation Tax Credit in the amount of $2,398 for the restoration project at Bleak Hill.
Denied staff’s recommended changes to the Water and Sewer Plan with regard to the Residential District.
Directed staff to prepare an Ordinance change to specifically grandfather out-parcels of Agricultural Preservation Districts created before an agreed upon date.
Approved the Certification of Development Options application submitted by the estate of Lillian G. Carroll for APD #94-13, allowing for 56 development options.
Approved the Certification of Development Options application submitted by Rose Haven, Inc., (District 2) for APD #05-04, allowing for 182 development options.
Approved the Certification of Development Options application submitted by Rose Haven, Inc., (District 3) for APD #05-05, allowing for a total of 220 development options.
Held a public hearing to consider a request made by the Drum Point Property Owners Association for changes in the agreement governing the operation of the current special taxing district. The record will remain open until close of business Monday, June 18, 2007.
