Summary of Actions Taken
Tuesday, July 24, 2007
Presented Robin Cox, Special Projects Coordinator, Sheriff’s Office, with the Pride and Quality Award for her extraordinary efforts that resulted in obtaining used furniture from the U.S. Census Bureau at no cost to the County. This “like new” furniture was valued at over $100,000.
Staff presented the Calvert Marine Museum (CMM) Master Plan 2007 prepared by the CMM Strategic Planning Committee. The Commissioners approved the concept and authorized staff to take it to the public for review.
Approved the FY 2008 Program Open Space Annual Program and authorized staff to send it to the Department of Natural Resources and the Maryland Department of Planning. Directed staff to send this information to the Towns of Chesapeake Beach and North Beach whenever a newly elected Board takes office. Directed staff to provide a color copy of the Pfeiffer Study on Trails.
Approved the Agreement of Sale for Fee Simple Acquisition for the Southern Connector Boulevard in the amount of $576,775, and authorized the President of the Board to sign the document. This property is located adjacent to Mill Creek Middle School along the Southern Connector Boulevard. Directed staff to provide a copy of all properties being bought in relation to the Southern Connector listed by size and cost.
Awarded C.A. Bean, Inc., of California, Maryland, the Bituminous Concrete Overlay Contract for the bid amount of $2,760,537.50.
Held a work session on Inclusionary Zoning. Directed staff to finalize the Calvert Housing Opportunities loan fund policies and process and bring this issue back for review in October.
