Executive Session Meeting
AGENDA
1. Personnel Matters [10-508 (a) (1) (i)]
The Board will meet with staff to discuss the request for an additional employee for the Board of Appeals.
2. Land Acquisition [10-508 (a) (3)]
The Board will meet with staff to discuss a potential land acquisition in the southern Prince Frederick area.
This agenda is subject to change and the times listed are approximate.
If any items are added for consideration, they will be included on a
revised agenda that will be issued prior to the closed session.

Summary of Actions Taken
Presented a proclamation declaring the week of October 23 – 31, 2007, as Red Ribbon Week, encouraging all citizens to participate in alcohol and drug awareness activities, making a visible statement that we are strongly committed to a drug-free County.
Presented a proclamation declaring October 18, 2007, as Conflict Resolution Day, urging all citizens to seek resolution to conflicts so that we may all live in peace.
No appointment was made to the Gambling Permit Review Committee.
Approved the Town of Chesapeake Beach’s request to enter the southern side of the Northeast Community Center property to replace approximately 240 feet of the deteriorated Fishing Creek bulkhead.
Authorized staff to prepare a request to the Southern Maryland Agricultural Development Commission to retain the funds for the Farmer’s Market promotion and directed staff to locate an alternative location for 2008.
Awarded the contract for Professional Engineering Services for the Design of the Appeal Convenience Center to SCS Engineers, of Columbia, Maryland, for the bid amount of $171,689. Directed staff to provide the Board with the total amount in the CIP for this project.
Removed New Business item 4 from the agenda.
Approved the by-laws for the Common Ownership Infrastructure Advisory Committee with two corrections: membership consists of 11 members, making a quorum of no less than six members. Directed staff to provide the Board with a copy of the Committee’s Resolution with the mission statement.
Attended the Calvert You Are Beautiful volunteers awards ceremony. Presented certificates and gifts to the 34 nominees and declared Michael and Linda Herdeman as the 2007 Calvert You Are Beautiful award winners.
