Summary of Actions Taken
Tuesday, October 30, 2007
Presented a proclamation declaring the month of November as National Hospice Month, honoring the dedicated volunteers and staff who form a valuable network of end-of-life support in our nation’s vast health care system and urging all citizens to actively support and participate in assisting with Calvert Hospice activities.
Presented a proclamation declaring the month of November as Lung Cancer Awareness Month, urging all citizens to do all that we can to make lung cancer a national public health priority and offer compassion to those with lung cancer.
Awarded the Purchase of County Vehicles Contract for 11 new vehicles as recommended by staff to Criswell Chevrolet, Kip Killmon’s Tysons Ford, Plaza Ford/Motor Fleet, Ourisman Ford Co., Inc., and Waldorf Ford. Directed staff to:
- Had any local vendors been notified?
- Inform the Board if any of these new vehicles are take-home vehicles.
- Do the cargo vans for Animal Control have separate air conditioning controls for the front and the back where the animals are kept?
- When was a full-time K-9 Deputy assigned to the Detention Center and why?
Approved the Certification of Development Options application submitted by J. Kenneth Brady, S. Lewis Brady, Anna L. Brady, Bobby Lee Brady, Sandra M. Brady, Thomas E. Brady Jr., and Russell E. Brady for their Agricultural Preservation District #06-15, totaling 122 Development Options.
Awarded Gradient Construction, LLC, of Chesapeake Beach, Maryland, the Master Meter Replacement Contract for the bid amount of $129,000. Directed staff to keep track of any change orders that might come in for this contract since the low bid was $100,000 lower than the next low bid.)
Attended the Grand Opening/Ribbon Cutting ceremony for Kelly Generator in Owings, Maryland.
