Summary of Action Taken
Tuesday, January 27, 2004
Presented a proclamation to Nicholas Beverly, age 9, for his efforts in helping his father during a medical emergency.
Held a public hearing on amendments to the Personnel Ordinance regarding employment status of department heads (to contract) and change of name of the Department of Personnel to Office of Personnel. Approved enacting the amendments.
Appointed Francis Boucher to the Agricultural Land Preservation Advisory Board to fill a vacancy due to a term expiration.
Appointed Carol Sue Black to the Gambling Permit Review Committee to fill a term due to a resignation.
Approved submission of a grant for a generator for the Health Services Center building. The County would be responsible for 25% of the costs. Approved budget adjustment #288 covering the costs.
Authorized the President of the Board to sign a letter to the Maryland Department of the Environment regarding an application for a Refuse Disposal Permit Application submitted by Calvert Trash Systems, Inc.
Approved Certification of Development Options – Dwight and Janet Hall and
Lawrence L. Hall Estate and Dwight Hall.
Approved that County employees who volunteer to work as an Election Judge for the 2004 primary election will receive one day of administrative leave.
Approved the agreement of sale between the County and the Koenig Foundation for land adjacent to Annmarie Gardens.
Approved budget adjustment #297, increasing funds to the employee tuition reimbursement budget.
