BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
Summary of Action Taken
Tuesday, April 06, 2004
Presented proclamations for Month of the Young Child; 2004 Maryland Chiefs’ Challenge Campaign on the Use of Safety Belts; and Archeology Month.
Met with the St. Leonard Vision Group and received an update on the activities of the group. Also received a copy of the book, “St. Leonard – A Maryland Tidewater Community”.
Met with the Mayors of the Towns of Chesapeake Beach and North Beach regarding the tax differential for FY 2005. Approved that the tax differential remain the same for the upcoming fiscal year.
Met with representatives of the Solomons Business Association and the Solomons Civic Association and received an update on activities in Solomons.
Received bids on the bond sale. Approved accepting the low bid from ABN AMRO Financial Services, Inc. as recommended and approved a resolution.
Reappointed Kirsti Uunila to the Heritage Committee and appointed John Fringer, Jr. to fill a vacancy due to a resignation.
Reappointed Steve Anadale to the Housing Authority.
Reappointed Ralph Bucca as the Calvert County representatives to the Southern Maryland Resource Conservation and Development Board.
Approved budget adjustment #410, Huntingtown Volunteer Fire Department addition.
Approved beginning the public hearing process to amend the Zoning Ordinance regarding converting buildable lots to TDRs.
Approved that Project Echo use office space within the Department of Community Resources for the soon to be established executive director for the shelter.
Authorized the President of the Board to sign the Board of Education list of nonrecurring costs for FY 2005.
Approved increasing fees for the Tennison at the Calvert Marine Museum effective in May 2004.
Approved increasing the Calvert Marine Museum admission fees effective June 1, 2004.
Deferred action on scheduling a public hearing to consider an addition to the County Code regarding a policy on workplace violence until additional information is received.
Authorized the President of the Board to sign a Community Service grant application from the State’s Attorney’s Office.
Held a meeting with representatives from the State Highway Administration and received SHA’s study on transportation in Dunkirk.
