Summary of Action Taken
Tuesday, April 27, 2004
Presented a proclamation for Senior Citizens Month and received ribbons from the SALT Council in support of law enforcement.
Recognized Donna Grover, Legal Secretary, State’s Attorney’s Office as Employee of the Month for April.
Received an updated “Know Your County” book from the League of Women Voters and presented a proclamation in honor of the League’s 35th anniversary.
Received a presentation on the draft Lower Patuxent River Watershed Action Strategies. Directed staff to refer the report to County Departments and the Environmental Commission for review and comment.
Received a report from the Code Home Rule Committee and viewed the informational presentation to be taken to public hearing. Reviewed and revised the content of the presentation. Approved public hearing dates: May 25; June 15 and June 22.
Reappointed William Gray to the Economic Development Authority.
Reappointed Quincy Rodgers to the Economic Development Commission.
Reappointed Austin Canfield to the Ethics Commission and appointed Jacqueline Bradley to fill a term.
Reappointed Michael Reber to the Zoning Board of Appeals and appointed Michael Redshaw to the First Alternate slot.
Approved documents and procedure submitted by staff regarding converting lots to TDRs.
Approved Certification of Development Options – Henry Trentman.
Approved tax credits for restoration of Historic Districts – Cornehill and Ridgely House.
Approved the recommendation of staff and rejected the bids for storm drainage improvements at Breezy Point. Directed staff to re-bid the contract.
Approved the agreement with Tapestry North Condominium Development concerning the maintenance of a shared septic system and water system. Authorized the President of the Board to sign the documents.
Approved the recommendation of the County Attorney that the public hearing on the proposed special tax district for the Drum Point Property Owners Association be re-advertised. The public hearing will now be held June 29, 2004.
Held a work session with staff on proposed Big Box regulations. Approved directing staff to submit the proposed regulations to agencies for comment.
Held a budget work session. Received an update on the current status of the FY 2005 budget. Took action on unresolved budget items.
