BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

Summary of Action Taken

Tuesday, May 11, 2004

 

Presented a proclamation to the Coast Guard Auxiliary for Safe Boating Week.

Reviewed and revised educational materials on Code Home Rule form of government to be presented at upcoming public hearings.

Participated in presentation of scholarships from Comcast.

Approved a quitclaim deed requested by Mr. Price Anderson of Dares Beach.

Discussed entering into a Development Agreement for the Calvert Gateway project in Dunkirk. Approved sending the Agreement to the Planning Commission to determine whether the Agreement is consistent with the Comprehensive Plan.

Approved moving forward with a request for a text amendment to the Zoning Ordinance from David Foster and Karen Jones regarding buffer and fencing requirements for new developments that adjoin pre-existing agricultural uses.

Approved the following Certification of Development Options: Calvert Farmland Trust (Walters property); George S. and Norma Lee Buckler; Edward M. Shenberger; Charles R. and Sheila D. Freeland; and three for the Campbell family.

Attended the Peace Officer’s Memorial Day Ceremony at Calvert Pines and the Cornerstone Laying Ceremony at the Prince Frederick campus of the College of Southern Maryland.
