Summary of Action Taken
Tuesday, June 22, 2004
Reappointed Lori Hony and Spike Parrish to the Affordable Housing Policy Advisory Committee. Appointed Nelson Arocho and Ann Ueno to fill a term expiration and a resignation.
Appointed Sgt. David Allen to the Deputy Sheriffs and Correctional Officers Pension Plan Board of Trustees to fill a vacancy due to a resignation.
Approved the addition of a non-voting advisory member to the Heritage Committee.
Approved directing staff to schedule public hearings to consider changes to the Water and Sewerage Plan and sanitary district in connection with the Cove Point Swimming Pool project.
Deferred action on an Inmate Housing Agreement with Prince George’s County.
Held a meeting with staff regarding the expansion of the Detention Center. Approved notifying the State of the County’s intention of seeking State funds for the project. Also approved authorizing staff to obtain a population forecast (of the Detention Center) by contracting with an outside consultant and that the projections go out 20 years.
Hosted a luncheon with officials from the State Comptroller’s Office.
Attended the re-dedication of the Solomons Tourist Information Center.
Held the third of three public informational hearings on Code Home Rule form of government at the Southern Community Center.
