BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
Summary of Action Taken
Tuesday, October 19, 2004
Presented proclamations for Health Care Careers Month and Red Ribbon Week.
Approved an inmate housing agreement with the Calvert County Fair, Inc. for a temporary holding area in case of an emergency evacuation at the Detention Center.
Approved the license agreement between the County and Diebold Election Systems, Inc.
Approved moving forward with an amendment to the Zoning Ordinance regarding measurement of setbacks for uses that do not involve structures.
Received an update from the ARC of Southern Maryland.
Held a public hearing on proposed fare structure for public transportation. Approved holding the record open until close of business, Wednesday, November 3, 2004.
Approved Certification of Development Options – Steven and Cynthia Schuster.
Approved certifications for converting lots to TDRs for Quality Built Homes on the following roads in Chesapeake Ranch Estates: Pinto Lane; Hickory Trail; Santa Domingo Drive; Piute Court; Rimrock Road; and Mariners Circle.
Approved the request from the Fire and Rescue Commission to use fire and rescue contingency funds in the amount of $5,673 to replace the auxiliary generator on
Engine 22, Prince Frederick Volunteer Fire Department.
Awarded the contract for fall 2004 critical area reforestation projects as recommended.
Awarded the contract for lighting projects at softball fields, tennis courts and basketball courts at Hallowing Point Park and Dunkirk Park as recommended.
Approved the request of the Sheriff to retain three vehicles scheduled for trade-in to establish a vehicle pool and at the end of the fiscal year the Sheriff submit a report on usage of the vehicles.
