BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

Summary of Action Taken

Tuesday, November 30, 2004

 

Presented a Team Excellence Award to employees of the Calvert Marine Museum; recognized Christine Jones of the Sheriff’s Department as Employee of the Month for October; and recognized Alice Galligan, Community Service Coordinator, as Employee of the Month for November.

Held a public hearing on a budget adjustment for the debt service payment, Chesapeake Hills Golf Course.  Approved budget adjustment #194.

Met with Representatives of the College of Southern Maryland regarding funding formulas for the College’s Prince Frederick Campus.

Reappointed Barbara Buchheister, Bonnie Burris, Glenn Conner, Tina Dubas and Dawn Tierney to the Adult Guardianship Review Board.  Also appointed Gregory Hollinger, Marcia Monnett, and Amye Scrivener to fill vacancies.  Directed that remaining vacancies be advertised.

Appointed Pamela Blyth to the Agricultural Land Preservation Advisory Committee to fill a vacancy due to a term expiration.

Reappointed Marshall Gibson to the Deputy Sheriffs and Correctional Officers Pension Plan Board of Trustees.

Appointed Robert L. Swann to the Solomons Architectural Review Committee to fill a vacancy due to a resignation.

Reappointed David Cavallaro, Jon Genevieve Dean, Anne Cole Johnston and Lawrence Wilson, Jr. to the Tourism Advisory Committee.  Appointed Jeff Greene and Pamela Shubert to fill vacancies due to resignations and term expirations.

Approved a public transportation fare schedule subsidizing the income-eligible; and include the subsidy for seniors over 60 years of age who ride public transportation, but do not qualify as “low income”. 

Approved scheduling a public hearing to consider modifying the Development Agreement for Patuxent Business Park changing the height requirement for buildings from 50 feet to 60 feet.

Authorized the President of the Board to sign the Community Oriented Policing Service (COPS) Technology Grant award.

Awarded the painting contract as recommended.

Approved a property reservation agreement at the Fox Run professional center office condominium.

Approved Certification of Development Options for John A. Prouty and Peter G. Baker, et al (2).

Attended a groundbreaking ceremony for the expansion of Calvert Memorial Hospital.
