BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
Summary of Action Taken
Tuesday, December 07, 2004
Appointed David Hale, President, and Jerry Clark, Vice-president, Board of County Commissioners for 2005.
Re-appointed Mary Watson, Clerk to the County Commissioners.
Designated Driver Month: Presented a proclamation.
Held a work session with Department of Planning & Zoning staff regarding the 2004 Comprehensive Plan that has been approved by the Planning Commission.
Approved budget adjustment #218 from the Commissioners Contingency in the amount of $95,872 to reimburse the water and sewer fund to offset legal expenses from the lawsuit with the Chesapeake Ranch Water Company.
Approved $982,570.00 additional funding to build the Cove Point Aquatic Center as designed with all amenities. The funding shortfall would be an undesignated fund balance with the option of moving the project to bonding, if conditions are favorable.
Awarded a contract to the low bidder Pioneer Roofing Systems, Inc. of Lorton, Virginia for $111,576.00 for the roof replacement of County Services Plaza.
Approved to convey a lot in the Town of North Beach which is currently covered by the Chesapeake Bay to a private citizen for the expansion of his shellfish research site located on the adjacent property. The Department of Natural Resources recommended selling the lot to the citizen.
Approved to proceed to public hearing for a Text Amendment for the Lusby Town Center Zoning Ordinance. Section: the portion involving uses not allowed in the Village Commercial District only; regarding drive-through windows.
Held a 2005 Planning Meeting at the Calvert Marine Museum.
