BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

Summary of Action Taken

Tuesday, December 14, 2004

 

Approved $2,700.00 funding from the Commissioner’s Contingency fund to proceed with Public Information meetings and mailings for the Water & Sewer Rate Adjustments for Solomons, Kenwood Beach, and White Sands.

Met with Judge Warren J. Krug, Circuit Court Administrative Judge for Calvert County; States Attorney Robert Riddle for Calvert County; and Robert Lusby, Detention Center Administrator, regarding the Population Forecast Study for the Detention Center.

Appointed Dennis Brown to the Gambling Permit Review Committee.

Approved the adoption of the 2004 Calvert County Comprehensive Plan.

Extended term expirations for three members on the Calvert County Family Network Board to June 30, 2005 to coordinate with to the CCFN revised by-laws.

Approved for the President of Board to sign consultant agreements for the Governor’s Office for Children, Youth and Families, GCAP Community Incentive Grant Program Consultant Agreement.

Received a resolution defining Economic Development Authority membership. Approved recommendations and accepted the resolution.

Approved budget adjustment #229 transferring $20,600.00 (1/2 annual required subsidy for remaining six months of FY’05) from the Board of County Commissioners Contingency Fund to the newly established Transportation Subsidy Account within the General Fund.  Approved to include the full annual $41,600.00 subsidy in the FY’06 budget. 

Held a discussion regarding Local Vendor Preference Information. Deferred and requested more information from staff.

Approved rental agreement for the House on Bennett O. Hughes Memorial Tree Farm.  Approved rent to Forestry Ranger for $200.00 per month.

Approved converting lots to TDRs – Mark D. Griffin Property (04-39).

Approved converting lots to TDRs – Eugene H. & Esther C. Herman Property (04-40), (04-41), (04-42), (04-43), and (04-44).

Approved to purchase Length of Service Award Program Tracking System (LOSAP) software for Fire/Rescue/EMS.

Approved gambling permit applications for the 1st Quarter 2005.
