Tuesday, January 11, 2005
Presented a proclamation to Frank Jaklitsch, Director of Planning & Zoning, for his retirement after serving Calvert County Government for 27 years.
Held a public hearing for the Cove Point Aquatic Center for approval of Budget Adjustment #260 to increase the use of reserves.
Approved to close the record at the conclusion of the public hearing.
Approved Budget Adjustment #260 in the amount of $982,570.00 using prior year reserves for the construction of the Cove Point Aquatic Center. Signed the resolution.
Held a public hearing for an amendment to the Excise Tax Ordinance to clarify the County’s policy on habitable dwellings and the replacement of a dwelling.
Approved to close the record at the conclusion of the public hearing.
Approved to enact the amended Excise Tax Ordinance subject to requirements of Section 75-10 C 1.5 (1-5) inclusive of the Calvert County Code.
Appointed Laura Holbrook to the Library Board of Trustees.
Appointments to the Cove Point Light Station Commission for two-year terms. Re-appointed Doug Alves, Director, Calvert Marine Museum; Anthony Brescia, Cove of Calvert Association representative; Patricia Erickson, Cove Point Beach Association representative; and Margaret VanAuker, citizen representative. Officially appointed Wayne M. Rogers to serve being the Cove Point Light Commission’s selection.
Approved the President of the Board of County Commissioners to sign the agreement with the Drum Point Property Owners Association for the third Drum Point Special Tax District.
Approved the Board of Education FY 2005 Operating Budget.
Denied Finance & Budget staff’s request to use bond financing versus the use of reserves for three capital project totaling $3,612,000.
Awarded Purchase Contract 2005-014 in the amount of $28,482.37 to Metro Bobcat Sales, Marlboro Pike, Forestville, MD. for a Compact Track Loader.
Approved Converting Lots to TDRs #04-46 for Margaret R. Campbell et al located at 12456 Hernandez Lane, Lusby, MD.
Approved Converting Lots to TDRs #04-47 for Constance J. Clark located at 946 Santa Domingo Court, Lusby, MD
Approved Converting Lots to TDRs #04-50 for Deckmann LLC located at 6751 Old Bayside Road, Chesapeake Beach, MD.
Approved Converting Lots to TDRs #04-45 for Eugene H. and Esther C. Herman located at 1022 Myrtle Lane, Lusby, MD.
Approved Converting Lots to TDRs #04-48 for Kent F. Simons and Patricia A. Simons located at 256 McMichaels Drive, Lusby, MD.
Received a loan request proposal for the Hunting Hills Water System upgrade project for $269,000. Repayment will be made from the enterprise fund at 1.5% interest rate over the term of 20 years. Approved a public hearing be scheduled.
