Summary of Action Taken
Tuesday, February 01, 2005

Approved to submit a 2005 Chesapeake Bay Small Watershed grant application. 

Held a public hearing for the McLain Barn Historic District 2005-01 application. The McLain Barn is located at 5100 Williams Wharf Road, St. Leonard, MD.
Approved the McLain Barn HD 2005-01 owned by David and Jessica McLain.

Held a work session on the five-year Capital Improvement Projects construction budget.  Agreed to move plans forward for a new indoor swimming pool in Prince Frederick up to design stage in FY06 and construction in FY07.

The Calvert Country Market received a $28,167.00 grant from the Southern Maryland Agricultural Development Commission as part of the tobacco buyout funds.  Approved the use of funds for advertising $12,850.00, contracted services $9,160.00, salaries $1,932.00, and rent subsidy $4,225.00 for recruiting vendors to the Market.  The 15% rent subsidy is required by SMADC to further subsidize and entice agricultural vendors to the CCM.

Approved the amended rules for the County employee Bright Idea Award.

Approved to use Critical Area funds to increase one zoning inspector from part-time to full-time.  This full-time inspector would pursue Critical Area violations in addition to Board of Appeals case reviews.
