Summary of Actions Taken
Tuesday, May 10, 2005
Declared the week of May 21 – 27, 2005 as Safe Boating Week in Calvert County.
Approved appointment of Carolyn Carpenter to the Historic District Commission.
Approved re-appointment of Althea Farmer and Reverend Russell McClatchey and the appointment of Reverend Monsignor Ordice Gallups to the Commission on Aging.
Approved the re-appointment of Jack Leighty to the Environmental Commission.
Approved the re-appointment of Stephanie Riddle and Patricia Veitch and the appointment of Pat Pease to the Local Citizen Review Panel.
Approved the request from the Privately Owned Infrastructure Advisory Committee to change the name of the Committee to the Common Ownership Infrastructure Advisory Committee.
Awarded the Sludge Storage Concrete Pad Contract to ABM Construction Co., Inc., from Lusby, Maryland.
Approved budget adjustment 433 in the amount of $44,074 to cover the additional legal and engineering expenses incurred due to the law suit with the Chesapeake Ranch Water Company.
Signed a resolution approving budget adjustment 449 in the amount of $138,721.50 to cover the unanticipated costs of emergency repairs to the Prince Frederick sewer line along Dares Beach Road that had collapsed.Approved renewing the contract for the operation of the County’s Visitor Centers (with) by the Calvert County Chamber of Commerce with an amendment allowing for a $15,000 increase for FY’06 and a 3.71% annual adjustment for FY’07 and FY’08 should the renewal option be exercise
The Office on Aging and the Seniors and Law Enforcement Together (S.A.L.T.) Council recognized the County Sheriff’s Office, State Police Barrack U, and the Maryland Natural Resources Police as part of a Tri-County effort to say thank you to local law enforcement held at the Calvert Pines Senior Center.
