Summary of Actions Taken
Tuesday, November 29, 2005
Recognized Claudette White as Employee of the Month for October 2005. Ms. White, a Highway Laborer/Operator with the Highway Maintenance Division, was recognized for her extraordinary customer service skills and willingness to learn the many facets of the office operation.
Awarded Robert C. Brady, Division Chief, Control Center, and Kathleen O’Brien, Project Coordinator, Technology Services, the Pride & Quality Award. Mr. Brady and Ms. O’Brien were recognized for their diligence in seeking and obtaining close to $1 million in reimbursement monies through the State of Maryland Emergency Systems Numbers Board.
Held a public hearing regarding the Maryland Water Quality Loan refinancing. Approved the related resolution authorizing this transaction to refinance the Maryland Water Quality Bonds Series 1993A and authorized signing the necessary loan documents.
Elected Commissioner Hale as Calvert County’s representative on the Maryland Association of Counties’ Legislative Committee, with Commissioner Parran as the alternate.
Held a joint work session with the Planning Commission regarding the re-writing of the Zoning Ordinance: Set 5 (Articles 5, 7, and part of 12), Set 6 (Articles 9, 10, and 11), Set 7 (Article 8).
Held a public hearing at Huntingtown High School regarding water and sewer rates. Presented two rate approaches – the System Rate and the Base + Variable Rate – to the public for comment and input.
