This agenda is subject to change and the times listed are approximate.

Summary of Actions

Reappointed James R. Mathers to the Board of Library Trustees.

Reappointed Lt. Col. Louis J. Oertly and Christina E. Payne to the Calvert County Family Network Board of Directors.
- Appointed Jacqueline McCoy to the Commission for Women.
- Reappointed Dawn C. Balinski, Michael W. Benton, Mark J. Davis, and Anthony V. DeStefano, and appointed Kevin Turner to the Economic Development Commission.
- Approved the new vendor bidding process, including the use of eMaryland Market Place for formal and informal bids, as well as upgrades to the Purchasing website with implementation date of March 1, 2010. Commissioner Parran directed staff to investigate if the vendor is not registered on eMaryland Marketplace, can they still bid on jobs in Calvert County; if bid requests are removed after the closing date on eMaryland Marketplace; and to provide presentations for the Chamber of Commerce and other business groups. Commissioner Shaw directed staff to provide the informative letter on the County’s website as well as being mailed, as well as add a column for comments for bids that have been rejected.
- Awarded the Disposable Medical Supplies contract to the following four companies: Alpine Pinnacle of Glendale, AZ (12 products); Moore Medical of Farmington, CT (11 products); Progressive Medical International of Vista, CA (8 products); and Southeastern Emergency Equipment of Wake Forest, NC (17 products). Commissioner Kelley directed staff to provide a comparison from last year’s costs to this year’s award.
- Rejected all bids received for the Custodial Services for Calvert County Library, Prince Frederick, in order to revise the bid specifications, removing the minimum hours required.
- Awarded the Solomon’s Town Center Park contract to Bay Country Contractors of Leonardtown, MD, for the bid amount of $1,017,941.
- Authorized the Department of Economic Development to seek advertisers for the Visitor’s Guide.
