  • Growth Management: How Are We Doing? This presentation gives an overview of county growth managment as outlined in the Comprehensive Plan and offers an outlook for the future to meet county buildout goals.

  • January 13th - "Save the Tobacco Barns" - a presentation on tax credits for barn preservation. The Calvert County Historic District Commission and the Sustainable Agriculture Workgroup sponsored the event in which Liz Creveling Petrella of the National Park Service discussed Federal and State tax credit programs.   • The Calvert County Planning Commissioners will hold a Public Hearing on Wednesday, May 16, 2012 at 7:00pm re: an ordinancen for the purpose of extending subdivision, site plan, building & grading permit, and special exceptions approvals, and amending resolution 2-98 to extend approvals and defer payment of water & sewerage tap fees, and transfer of sewer taps, to address current economic hardships.

  • A proposed text amendment related to Prince Frederick Town Center zoning has been withdrawn. The public hearing on the matter originally scheduled for May 1 is canceled.

  • Free Trees in the Critical Area - Free trees are available for any Critical Area property owner who has an area on their property they would like to replant with trees to help the County maintain 100% of existing forest cover within the Critical Area.  For more information and to apply for free trees, click here.

  • Commissioners Adopt Biscoe Gray Heritage Farm Master Plan -   On December 14, 2010 the Board of County Commissioners adopted the Master Plan for development of the Biscoe Gray Heritage Farm.  Click here for additional information and to review the Plan.

  • Grays Creek Subwatershed - Calvert County has a long history of wisely managing its environmental resources and is working to prepare subwatershed plans to achieve/maintain  water quality objectives which include “fishable/swimmable” goals for all its waterways. The Department of Planning & Zoning held a meeting on the Grays Creek subwatershed on August 26th. Click here for more information.
