Calvert Housing Opportunities Loan Fund

The Calvert Housing Opportunities Loan Fund was established by the Board of County Commissioners to:

• Increase opportunities for home ownership for first-time homebuyers;
• Provide/create financing solutions for low to moderate income homebuyers;
• Provide builders and developers with access to short-term, low-interest funding for start-up costs associated with the development of affordable/workforce housing.

The Calvert Housing Opportunities Loan Fund is administered by the Calvert Housing Opportunities Committee, with the loans being made through the Calvert Affordable Housing Alliance, a 501C.3 organization.

The Loan Fund may be used to supplement existing mortgage products for low-to-moderate income first-time homebuyers.  The Loan Fund may also be used for land options and land purchases, engineering, legal and architectural fees, and other services or development costs which are permitted to be financed from a loan up to 100% of said costs.
