Calvert County Citizen Corps Council

 CERT:  The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program helps train people to be better prepared to respond to emergency situations in their communities.  View a presentation about our County CERT.  When emergencies happen, CERT members can give critical support to first responders, provide immediate assistance to victims, and organize spontaneous volunteers at a disaster site. CERT members can also help with non-emergency projects that help improve the safety of the community.

The American Red Cross is a humanitarian organization, led by Volunteers, that provide relief to victims of disasters and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies.  Volunteer Southern Maryland's mission:  Fostering change through volunteerism to build a stronger community. VSMD serves as a one-stop shop for volunteerism that connects volunteers with opportunities to serve, as well as local non-profit agencies in need of volunteers.  We do this through an interactive online database of local nonprofit agencies and volunteer opportunities that is accessible to anyone at anytime.  In addition, VSMD also sponsors monthly events, activities, and drives to meet local community needs.
