Community Service
The Community Service Division is located in Room 246, 175 Main Street, Prince Frederick, MD 20678. The program accepts non-violent offenders ordered by the courts to complete volunteer community service work.
The program requires an interview for placement at one of the 128 work sites. Some of the available sites include: Project Echo Homeless Shelter, County Government, Highway Maintenance, Volunteer Fire Departments, Nursing Homes, Catholic Charities, and special events such as Patuxent River Appreciation Days, Calvert County Fair and Celtic Festival.
During the 2005 Calendar Year, 1294 clients participated in the program and performed over 28,169 hours of volunteer work. This amounted to over $204,701 in community service donated labor that was performed in Calvert County during 2003.
