Bay Restoration Fund Grant Program

Bay Restoration Fund Grant Program

Calvert Health Department - 410-535-3922

The fund provides grant monies for property owners to replace their home septic systems with nitrogen-reducing systems, which help reduce the amount of nitrogen released into our groundwater, waterways and ultimately the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries. Properties with failing septic systems in the Chesapeake Bay Critical Area – the area within 1,000 feet of the tidal waters and tidal wetlands of the bay and its tributaries – receive the highest priority for funding, followed by properties with failing septic systems outside of the Critical Area.

Grant funds for the Fiscal Year 2018 (July 2017-June 2018) have recently been approved to be awarded to the Calvert Health Department. All applications and correspondence must be submitted to that office. Please download the Bay Restoration Fund (BRF) Grant Application (below), print it, sign and submit it to the Calvert Health Department. Please include a copy of your current Federal IRS Form 1040.
