Mini Grants
CAASA Mini Grants
CAASA provides $4,000 in mini grants to community organizations to encourage and promote prevention activities. CAASA's Board of Directors is pleased to announce this year's mini-grant recipients:

2018-2019 Grant Award Recipients

  • Calvert Middle School – Prevention Activities – grant funds will be used throughout the year to sponsor alcohol and other drug prevention activities in the school. 
  • Community Mediation Center of Calvert – grant funds will be used to sponsor an after school club for students called “Students Against Violence Everywhere” (SAVE).
  • East John Youth and Community Center - “F.U.E.L Empowerment and After School” Program – grant funds will used to provide alcohol and other drug abuse activities and educational opportunities for students and host the F.U.E.L Empowerment event.
  • Huntingtown Elementary School – Purchase of “Second Step” Curriculum aimed at enhancing social and academic success.
  • Mill Creek Middle School – Purchase of “Second Step” Curriculum aimed at enhancing social and academic success and sponsorship of alcohol and other drug prevention activities in the school.
  • Patuxent and Appeal Elementary Campus – to assist with the creation of a PEACE Corner.  This project will provide an area where students can retreat when they are feeling overwhelmed.   
  • Patuxent High School - Prevention activities – grant funds will be used throughout the year to sponsor alcohol and other drug prevention activities in the school.
