St. Leonard Second Access Road
On the Evening of June 9th, Calvert County Department of Public Works in conjunction with the engineering firm of Wallace Montgomery held the second public open house meeting regarding the Concept Planning Study for the St. Leonard Second Access Road. From the many suggestions presented at the first open house meeting held on December 10th, Wallace Montgomery narrowed the field to approximately 14 concepts, and then refined those 14 concepts down to 9. They then looked at each concept, taking into consideration length of roadway, number of structures, natural environmental resources impacted, socio-economical resources, cultural resources and costs, and made determinations as to which concepts to drop from consideration and which to keep for the June 9th meeting, providing pros and cons for both dropping or keeping each concept.

Comments were received from those in attendance on June 9th; however we acknowledge that there are those that were not able to attend. The Department of Public Works and Wallace Montgomery want to hear your comments and concerns. Although concepts were dropped from consideration for the June 9th meeting, if you feel that an option should still be considered or if you feel that another location should be looked into, we need to hear your input. Please note that as of this date, nothing is set in stone.

We welcome your comments and will continue to receive comments until June 30, 2015. You may fill out the comment card and return it to:

Department of Public Works
Attn: John Knopp
