Join the Calvert Alliance Against Substance Abuse and the Prescription Drug Abuse Abatement Council for Calvert County's sixth Community Forum on Prescription and other drug abuse.  

Come and speak to those who work in the prevention and treatment field everyday.   Learn more about addiction and how to work through this illness.   Ask the experts and learn more about the resources available in and around the county. 

Of major importance is the opportunity to share your experience so local agencies can find the gaps in services and work to provide additional resources needed.

"Step By Step" 5K Fun Run/Walk

The "Step By Step" race is held in memory of Mike Blackwell a marathon runner killed on Broomes Island Road while training.  Mike's wife Bonnie and their daughters have allowed us to hold this event in Mike's memory in an effort to encourage a healthy life free of alcohol and other drug abuse.   CAASA thanks the Blackwell family for giving us this opportunity to raise awareness and funds for much needed prevention efforts in Calvert County.

The Harvest - Youth Rally
Date:  October 18, 2014
Time:  2 to 5 p.m.
Location:  Serenity Farm, Route 231, Benedict, Maryland

Join Calvert County youth as they rally to raise awareness to the dangers of alcohol and other drugs, while providing information about local activities and programs to help guide kids in a positive direction. Join youth oriented agencies, such as 4-H, Calvert Young Marines, F.U.EL - Youth Empowerment., Shooting Starzzz, and others, for a day of music and fun on the farm.   Come HARVEST your future! 

Many thanks to Farming for Hunger for allowing the use of their buildings and grounds for this event.  

Calvert County Prescription Drug Take Back Day

Date:  Saturday, September 27
Time:  10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

  • Calvert County Sheriff's Office, Prince Frederick

Mark your calendars for the  DEA/Calvert County Drug Take Back event.  Bring any unwanted and expired medications to the above locations and dispose of them quickly with no questions asked.

Angela Mister Memorial Golf Tournament
DATE:  Tuesday, September 23, 2014
TIME:  8 a.m. - Registration / 9 a.m. Shotgun Start 
Location:  Twin Shields Golf Course, 2425 Roarty Drive, Dunkirk, Maryland

Registration donation per player is $100.  Enjoy 18 holes of golf (including cart), coffee, and donuts, barbeque lunch, snacks and beverages on the course, door prices, 50/50 raffle and more.  Each player will receive a goody bag! 

All proceeds support the Calvert Alliance Against Substance Abuse, Inc. prevention efforts in Calvert County.  Hole sponsorships are available as well.

On Track To Recovery
