Girls Lacrosse
Parks & Recreation’s Girls Lacrosse is for girls between the ages of 7 and 14 with ages determined as of September 1, 2017. Teams play in a Tri-County league consisting of teams from Northern, Central and Southern Calvert County plus teams from Charles and St. Mary’s counties.

Games are played in all three counties on Saturdays and an occasional Sunday afternoon if needed.

Practices begin in late February. The regular season starts mid-March and ends in late May before Memorial Day. Charles County hosts an “Icebreaker” play day at the beginning of the season and the season ends with Lax-A-Daisy at Chaptico Park in St. Mary’s County.

Teams practice at Windy Hill Elementary, Calvert Country School and Appeal Elementary.

Children ages 6, 8, 10 and 12 may play up with the next age level provided they have the experience and skills to do so. Any child playing up must be evaluated in order to qualify.

Volunteer Coaches are an essential part of any youth sports program. If you want to dedicate your time helping children learn the fundamentals, improve their skills and develop a better understanding of the game, please let us know.

For 5 and 6 year olds, there is a Sticklets instructional lacrosse program. This program is non-competitive with basic fundamentals introduced in a fun and supportive learning environment. Sticklets is every Friday at Hallowing Point Park beginning in late March and ending mid-May.

If you should have any questions about this program, please call (410) 535-1600 ext. 2227 or 2229 or email us at .
