The Department of Economic Development monitors economic trends and works to execute business programs that complement Calvert County. The department’s goal is to attract and retain strong, healthy and dynamic companies of all sizes and industries.

Business Appreciation Week 2015
The Calvert County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) and the Department of Economic Development observe Business Appreciation Week each year to celebrate local businesses. This year’s 10th anniversary event was held May 4-9 and featured a host of special events and activities to thank businesses for their contributions to the county’s economy and quality of life. Retail Analysis Report
The Board of County Commissioners engaged Fore Consulting to conduct this 2011 study on retail purchasing power and space demand to inform the effort to develop the former Calvert Middle School site in Prince Frederick.
