Overview
The Department of Economic Development monitors economic trends and works to execute business programs that complement Calvert County. The department’s goal is to attract and retain strong, healthy and dynamic companies of all sizes and industries.
The department also markets the county’s
tourism and visitor attractions, provides
services and assistance to the business community and administers the county's
public information program.

Building a Foundation for Growth
The Calvert County Board of County Commissioners annually celebrates local businesses during Business Appreciation Week the first full week of May. This year we recognize the construction and building trades industries as well as offer special events, seminars and networking activities designed to foster businesses of all kinds. |
The Calvert You Are Beautiful program acknowledges unsung heroes who make Calvert County better through their volunteerism.
Nominations are now being accepted. Deadline for receipt of nomination forms is July 12, 2013. |

Mission
Calvert County Economic Development (CCED) acts as a catalyst to enhance the economy of Calvert County by promoting quality, economic development within the parameters set by the Comprehensive Plan.
The department concentrates on working with the private sector to provide employment opportunities for Calvert County residents, increasing the commercial tax base and increasing the number of visitors to the county. In generating new business opportunities, the county continues to remain sensitive to the environment and responsive to community interests.
