Economic Development
The Department of Economic Development monitors economic trends and works to execute business programs that complement Calvert County. The department’s goal is to attract and retain strong, healthy and dynamic companies of all sizes and industries.

survey2014 Business Survey
The Department of Economic Development has launched the 2014 Business Survey and seeks input from county business owners. Data collected from the survey will be used to support local businesses, enhance the programs and services that are currently available and report trends to the Board of County Commissioners. Business owners can find the survey here.

Retail Analysis Report
The Board of County Commissioners engaged Fore Consulting to conduct this 2011 study on retail purchasing power and space demand to inform the effort to develop the former Calvert Middle School site in Prince Frederick.

Business Appreciation Week 2014
This year Business Appreciation Week was held May 5-9 and featured special events and activities to thank businesses of all sizes for their baw logocontributions to the county’s economy and quality of life. This year’s theme, “Celebrating the Spirit of Entrepreneurship,” recognizes the companies that show the grit, determination, perseverance and passion to succeed.
