Preservation
Calvert County Nature Parks are peerless examples of the ecological diversity found in Southern Maryland Region. Each offers significant opportunities for outdoor learning and compatible recreation.


Education and Recreation 
  • Calendar of Events Sign up for one of our Nature Discovery Programs to learn about the plants and animals of Calvert County. Education programs are sponsored by the Battle Creek Nature Education Society. Visit the BCNES web site to register and for more information.
  • Water Access including boating and fishing opportunities

The Division of Natural Resources also manages areas to protect the natural and cultural resources of the county.

NEW Natural Resources Brochure
The Calvert County Divisions of Natural Resources printed a new brochure featuring a map of all the natural resources facilities and information about the natural and cultural heritage of the County. Request a brochure by emailing or download a printer-friendly version (1.3 MB pdf)

Public Meeting To Be Scheduled for New Dunkirk Park Master Plan

The Calvert County Divisions of Natural Resources and Parks and Recreation are hosting a public meeting in September to receive community input on the Master Plan the new park to be located on Ward Road in Dunkirk. Date, time and place will be announced soon.

Deer Workgroup Report (pdf)
In response to numerous vehicle/deer collisions and crop damage in Calvert County, The Calvert County Board of County Commissions directed that a work group be formed to make recommendations on options to reduce the impacts from deer overabundance in the county. The Commissioners approved the report on April 23, 2013.
