Our mission is to preserve, manage and operate natural resource areas to provide compatible outdoor recreation and educational opportunities for the public.
Summer Hours: Starting on Saturday, May 25 all nature parks will switch to their summer hours. Flag Ponds Nature Park will resume charging the daily entrance fee on weekdays starting Monday May 27.

Calvert County Nature Parks are peerless examples of the ecological diversity found in Southern Maryland Region. Each offers significant opportunities for outdoor learning and compatible recreation.

The Division of Natural Resources also manages areas to protect the natural and cultural resources of the county.
Deer Workgroup Report
In response to numerous vehicle/deer collisions and crop damage in Calvert County, The Calvert County Board of County Commissions directed that a work group be formed to make recommendations on options to reduce the impacts from deer overabundance in the county. The Commissioners approved the report on April 23, 2013.
