Department Overview
The Department of Community Resources oversees the delivery of direct services to citizens by Calvert County’s
Department of Public Transportation and the
Office on Aging. The department administers the
House Keys 4 Employees Program and the
NACo Pharmacy Discount Card Program, and serves, on a county-wide scale, as the government’s liaison for local human services agencies, including:
Functions
- Monitors and serves as the point of contact for federal and state grants awarded to local agencies in the areas of homelessness prevention, emergency food and emergency shelter.
- Provides Calvert County citizens with a link to human services including housing, food, and shelter.
- Serves as a clearinghouse for citizen issues relating to the provision of human services, responding to inquiries from citizens and professionals seeking information and referral.
- Serves as the central point of information and assistance to all other Calvert County Government offices and citizens with regard to compliance with provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) for county services.
