SOLOMONS TOWN CENTER MASTER PLAN RECOGNIZED AS
"OUTSTANDING PLAN" BY THE
MARYLAND CHAPTER OF THE AMERICAN PLANNING ASSOCIATION

The staff of the Department of Planning & Zoning is pleased to announce that the Maryland Chapter of the American Planning Association has selected the Solomons Town Center Master Plan as the Co-winner in the “Outstanding Plan Less Than 100,000 Population” category.  The Solomons Town Center Master Plan shares this distinction with the Garrett County Master Plan.

JENNY PLUMMER-WELKER, AICP, PRINCIPAL PLANNER RECOGNIZED FOR
"OUTSTANDING SERVICE" TO THE CHAPTER

The Maryland Chapter also selected Jenny Plummer-Welker, AICP, Principal Planner, for "Outstanding Service" to the Chapter. Jenny was Chapter President for the years 2007-2009 and has served on the Chapter Executive Board for many years.

The 2009 Awards were presented at a ceremony in Annapolis on November 4, 2009.  The Calvert County Board of Commissioners also recognized the Planning Commission and Jenny at its regular weekly meeting on November 10, 2009. More About the Maryland Chapter Awards: The Maryland Chapter awards program recognizes outstanding efforts and achievements that advance the art and science of planning in the State of Maryland. The Chapter conducts an awards program every two years. Each of the plans, projects and individuals recognized demonstrates a contribution to the improvement of the quality of life for Marylanders.
