Alarm Business License Requirements

• Any person engaging in an alarm business to sell, install, service or monitor alarm systems in Calvert County must apply to the County for an Alarm Business License (ABL).
• In order to apply for a Calvert County ABL, the alarm business must be licensed with the Maryland State Police (MSP) to conduct business in Maryland.

• Any alarm business that sells, installs, services or monitors alarms in Calvert County that is not registered with the County is subject to a fee of $150 per alarm response.
  • To determine whether or not your client base is within Calvert County, check our zip code listing.
  • It is the responsibility of the alarm business to register all alarm users it services. Any alarm responsethat involves an unregistered user will also result in a fee to the alarm business of $150 per alarm instance.
• Failure to comply with provision 8.0 of the Calvert County False Alarm Regulation, Alarm Business License Requirements, will constitute grounds for denial, suspension or revocation of an alarm business license.
