Meet the Sheriff
Sheriff Mike Evans believes every citizen of Calvert County deserves the highest quality of law enforcement and protection. He is committed to this belief. He understands and appreciates why you choose to live in Calvert County.

Mike is one of four; one younger brother and two younger sisters who were all born and raised in Huntingtown in a Law Enforcement environment. Mike's father Ted Evans is a retired Maryland State Police Lt. Colonel and his mother Audrey B. Evans, a former Clerk of the Circuit Court for Calvert County now reside in Dowell, MD.
Mike enjoys weight lifting, softball, swimming and over the years coaching and playing various sports with his sons through Parks and Recreation.
Family and friends get together for quality time at Mike's house for cookouts, swimming, horseshoes, and volleyball. Once a year the entire family vacations together at the beach in North Carolina.
Mike has been married for 31 years to Susan who works at the Calvert County Detention Center. Mike and Susan have two sons, Eric and Charlie.
Eric graduated from the Maryland State Police Academy on February 6, 2004 and is assigned to the Leonardtown Barrack. Eric married Traci Payne in 2008 and have a son Mason.
Charlie obtained his Bachelor of Science (B.S.) Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland and is a Maryland State Trooper assigned to the Leonardtown Barrack Charlie married Cassie O'Donnell in 2009 and have a daughter Sophia.
Eric and Charlie enjoy playing softball on county leagues as well as for the Maryland State Police traveling team. They also enjoy the sport of weightlifting.
