Office of Transportation

Calvert County, through the Public Transportation Division of the Department of Community Resources, serves the transportation needs of the general public, as well as the elderly and persons with disabilities.  The county provides a deviated fixed route system Monday through Saturday to link residents with major shopping, medical, and employment, as well as with public services available in Prince Frederick.  Calvert County operates six deviated fixed routes that run from Prince Frederick to Solomon's; Prince Frederick to North Beach and Chesapeake Beach; Prince Frederick to St. Leonard, Broomes Island, and Adelina; Prince Frederick Shuttle Service; Lusby, Solomons, Chesapeake Ranch Estates Shuttle Service.  There are four demand response routes that operate Monday through Friday within the county, one between Prince Frederick and destinations to the north; one between Prince Frederick and destinations to the south; one with the North Beach and Chesapeake Beach, Owings area; and one for clients that need transportation to dialyses.  Fare and schedule information may be obtained from our website or by contacting the Calvert County Office of Public Transportation at 410-535-4268 or 4410-535-4510.

Commuter Bus Service

Calvert County, through the Maryland Transit Administration of the Maryland Department of Transportation provides the commuters of the county with an alternative mode of transportation.  At the present time, the Route 902 service has a total of twelve commuter buses leaving the county daily from St. Leonard and Prince Frederick area to the Washington Metro area.  The buses stop at the park and ride lots at the Calvert County Fairgrounds; St. Leonard, Sunderland Park and Ride; and Dunkirk Park and Ride.  The Route 904 service has a total of twelve buses leaving the county daily from North Beach; Owings; Lower Pindell Road park and ride; Bristol park and ride; Wayson Corner park and ride and the Prince George's County Equestrian Center park and ride.  These buses make stops throughout the city and connect with the Metro system for rides into Montgomery County and Northern Virginia.  This service operates Monday through Friday.  Schedule and fare information may be obtained from the Maryland Transit Administration Website at www.mtamaryland.com or through Calvert County Office of Public Transportation at 410-535-4268 or 410-535-4510.
