Overview of Commuter Service

Calvert County, through the Maryland Transit Administration of the Maryland Department of Transportation provides the commuters of the county with an alternative mode of transportation.  At the present time, the Route 902 service has a total of seventeen commuter bus runs leaving the county daily from St. Leonard and Prince Frederick area to the Washington Metro area.  The buses stop at the park and ride lots at Crossroad Church in St. Leonard, MD, Prince Frederick Park and Ride at Fairground and Armory Rd, Chesapeake Church and the Sunderland Park and Ride in Sunderland, MD, and the Dunkirk Park and Ride on Ferry Landing Road.  The Route 904 service has a total of fourteen buses leaving the county daily from the Municipal Lot in North Beach, MD, Dash-In on Rt. 260 in Owings; Lower Pindell Road Park and Ride; Bristol park and ride; Wayson’s Corner Park and Ride and the Prince George's County Equestrian Center Park and Ride.  These buses make stops throughout the city and connect with the Metro system for rides into Montgomery County and Northern Virginia.  This service operates Monday through Friday.

  • One -Way Good for one trip in either direction. 
  • Day Pass Good for Baltimore Service only (Routes 310, 320, 410, 411, & 420).  Vaild for 
    travel on MTA Local Bus, Express Bus, Metro Subway, Light Rail and Neighborhood Shuttles.
  • 10-Trip Tickets Good for 10 one-way trips in either direction according to indicated zone.
  • Monthly Pass Good for one calendar month of unlimited travel up to the inicated zone.  Valid on
    MTA Local Bus, Express Bus, Metro Subway, Light Rail and Neighborhood Shuttles.
  • Transit Link Card (TLC) Includes all of the policies for the Monthly Pass.  In additon, valid for one 
    calendar month of unlimited travel on WMATA Metrorail and Metrobus, Montgomery County Ride On,
    and TransIT Services of Frederick County.  TLC is good for the base fare on all Metrobuses with 
    free connections to Laurel Transportation Corporation's Connect-A-Ride and Prince George's
    County's The Bus.
  • Senior/Medicare and Disability Qualifying customers receive a discount off the price of all 
    Commuter Bus tickets except TLC.  Qualifying customers must keep one of the following in 
    their possession at all times while boarding and riding MTA
    services and when purchasing 
    reduced fares.
    • Senior citizens, sixty-five years of age or older (65+) must show:
      • A valid MTA Senior photo ID card,
      • Any valid government issued photo ID showing date of birth (age 65+),
      • OR a Medicare card and any valid government issued photo ID. 
    • Persons with disabilities must show:
      • A valid MTA Disability photo ID card,
      • A valid disability ID from another transit agency and any valid government 
        issued photo ID, 
      • OR a Medicare card and any valid government issued photo ID.  
    • Medicare card holders must show:
      • a Medicare card and any valid government issued photo ID.
  • MTA Monthly passes (Baltimore Metropolitan transit) are accepted on MTA Commuter Bus Nos. 
    310 through 420. There is an additional Zone charge of $1.15, $1.90, $2.65 and $3.40 per ride 
    for Zones 1 through 4 respectively.

Commuter Bus Route No. 902 Prince Frederick Park & Ride Improvements

**With the opening of the new Prince Frederick Park and Ride the bus stop currently at The Healing & Deliverance Christian Church will be closed as of close of business Friday, June 3, 2011

The New Prince Frederick Park & Ride Lot will include:

  • Installation of new shelters!
  • Installation of upgraded lighting!
  • Parking lot will be paved to more than double the current number of parking spaces!

During the construction project, buses will temporarily discontinue stopping at the Prince 
Frederick Park & Ride lot.
