Solid Waste and Recycling

The Solid Waste Enterprise Fund was established in 1992.  The Division of Solid Waste manages the disposal and recycling of the county's solid waste stream.  The Solid Waste Enterprise Fund is wholly supported by fees collected from solid waste haulers and residents, as well as solid waste fees collected on the County's tax bills which support the daily operations of the Solid Waste and Recycling Operations conducted throughout Calvert County.

Requirements for Posting Signage at the Appeal Municipal Landfill Entrance by Non-Profit Agencies and Organizations:

Calvert County based non-profit agencies only may submit a written request for permission to post an approved sign (4' x 8' only) at the entrance to the Appeal Municipal Landfill.  The posting duration is limited to 14 days and all signage must be removed by the organization within 24 hours after the event (or the approved end date).  Placement of signs may not be scheduled earlier than 3 months before the date of the advertised event.  Signage that displays alcohol or tobacco branding is prohibited.

Organizations wishing to post a sign must submit a completed request form to the Division of Solid Waste for approval.  Written requests may be mailed to the Calvert County Division of Solid Waste (P.O. Box 1330, Lusby, MD 20657) or faxed to (410) 586-9461.  Electronic copies of the rules and request form are attached below:
