Appeal Landfill Fee Schedule
Appeal Landfill Map and Recycling Guide
Tip Fees
The following tip fees (the cost per ton of solid waste disposed of at the transfer station or in the landfill) became effective July 1, 2011:
Trash:
All out-of-county and commercial customers: $72.52 per ton
Calvert County residents with chargeable loads: $65.27 per ton
The tip fee increase is tied to changes in the Consumer Price Index under an agreement between the county and Waste Management, Inc. The agreement includes the provision for annual disposal fee adjustments, with a maximum annual adjustment of 3 percent.
The tip fees (the cost per ton of solid waste dumped at the transfer station) apply for all solid waste from commercial customers, Calvert County residents, and from out of county. The fees apply to chargeable loads* of solid waste brought to the Appeal Landfill.
* The Appeal Landfill charges for the following items:
- Yard debris, including leaves, branches, grass clippings and trees (NO STUMPS)
- Construction and demolition debris, including windows, doors, windows, cabinets, sinks, tubs, toilets, carpet, drywall, wood, fencing, sheds, siding, shutters, shingles, etc.
- Mixed loads, including any of the above items mixed with household trash
Metal:
- All metal is accepted at most sites. Freon appliances are accepted at the Appeal Landfill only. There is no charge for metal disposal.
Tires:
- Tire disposal: $178 per ton
The above items can only be accepted at the Appeal Landfill. They CAN NOT be taken to any other of the county's drop-off location sites. Please see the materials page for hours and restrictions.
PLEASE NOTE:
- The Calvert County Division of Solid Waste accepts payment by cash or check only; credit card or debit card payments are not accepted.
- Customers may establish a revolving charge account subsequent to bonding with Calvert County, secured by either a cash bond or letter of credit.
