The commission acts in an advisory capacity to promote, encourage and improve the county's general economic well-being by assisting in implementation of the county's five-year strategic plan, providing feedback to the BOCC on policies affecting economic development and serving as an ambassador in recruiting businesses and promoting Calvert County to business prospects. Applicants are sought from a diversity of industries including agriculture, manufacturing, health care, construction, hospitality and professional services
There shall be at least nine, but no more than 15, members appointed by the BOCC. The term of each member shall be three years and members may not serve for more than three consecutive full terms. Members must complete financial disclosure statements annually.
The commission meets bi-monthly at 9 a.m. Unless otherwise noted in advance on the posted meeting agenda, the Commission meets at various locations, please see specific agenda for location.
