    The Board of County Commissioners will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. to consider and receive comments on Budget Adjustment #085 to adjust the FY2021 Department of Public Safety budget to account for the grant award received from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security for the FY2019 Staffing Adequate Fire and Emergency Response program. This is an award of $493,500 over four years in accordance with the terms of the grant agreement. Awarded funds are used to prevent, prepare for and respond to fires and emergencies in accordance with the grant agreement.   2. Public Hearing - Bond Issuance

    The commissioners will conduct a public hearing on Tuesday, Sept. 29 at 10:30 a.m. with respect to a Resolution to be considered by the board which will provide for the issuance and sale by the board in one or more series, of its general obligation consolidated public improvement and refunding bonds in an aggregate principal amount not to exceed $49,000,000. Citizens can view the resolution and related documents online. The proposed resolution may be substantively modified, revised, amended or changed based upon comments received.   3. Public Hearing - Maryland Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG) Funds Awarded through the Federal CARES Act Application Round II

    The commissioners will conduct a Public Hearing Tuesday, Sept. 29 to obtain the views of citizens on community development and housing needs to be considered for submission of an application to the Maryland Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG) for funds awarded through the federal CARES Act on behalf of LifeStyles of Maryland Foundation, Inc for emergency rental assistance for eligible households impacted by COVID-19. The total fund request is $648,000. Funds must be used to prevent, prepare for and respond to the Coronavirus. The commissioners will also consider comments on a proposal to adopt three resolutions to provide for the “Authorizing Resolution” as required for recipients of federal CDBG funds through the State. Citizens will have the opportunity to discuss proposed projects and to provide input. Comments will be made part of the Record if received by close of business the day before the public hearing.
